Mediation allows the parties to reach an agreed end result. Once both parties reach an agreement, it will become legally binding. This is good if the parties want to be in control of the process.

In arbitration the parties are subject to the decision of the arbitrator, who will use the information provided to them and legal reasoning to reach a legally binding outcome. This is useful if you want an expert to decide the dispute in a fair manner.
