About

Founded in 2019 by former Solicitor-General, Michael Heron KC, Agreeable has taken the traditional legal model of hourly rates, unknown expenses and long visits to a law office and flipped it on its head.

In New Zealand, the Property “Relationships” Act 1976 allows couples to “contract out” of the act and define how their assets will be separated if the relationship ends. Agreeable aims to make the “contracting out” process easy. With Agreeable, you can get a certified relationship property or separation agreement entirely online. You draft the agreement with us online, then we provide a fixed-fee quote for two independent lawyers to provide advice and certify your agreement. We provide an online signing platform. In essence, we have stripped away all the niggle and made the process of getting a relationship property or separation agreement easy and cost-effective.

Agreeable was established by Michael Heron KC, former Solicitor-General of New Zealand (second from the left). Mike has unique experience in litigation and has more recently led the digital transformation of the Crown Law Office in New Zealand. Mike built Agreeable with the original team (pictured above): Wiremu Te Hiko, Charlotte Agnew-Harington, and Ben Morgan. “The current court process is complex, lengthy and very expensive,” says Mike. “Agreeable provides access to expert justice in a way which is driven by you and your needs.”

Who’s using Agreeable?

"You are all doing an amazing job. Our experience using Agreeable was excellent. You were very timely in your responses with us and happy to explain all situations in full, which made for a pleasurable experience working with you. Also, we both were allocated professional and passionate lawyers, who made us understand the agreement to the best of their ability. Overall, Agreeable made the agreement feel effortless and as though we were in good hands from beginning to end. Thank you for that."
Nicol
"I hope I never need to use your service again, given the circumstances underlying it, but if I have to do it over again I'd definitely go straight to Agreeable. Very happy with the service and price. Would also recommend it to anyone else in a similar situation.”
Separation Agreement
"We used Agreeable for our separation agreement. It was so easy, I would totally recommend them. I put them under pressure to finalise quickly and I’m very satisfied with the service I received. Heard back from them promptly with all my questions and it was about $1000 cheaper than going with local lawyers."
